Homicide: Life on the Street Season 1&2
While doing research for the new book, someone recommended I go back and spend some time with Homicide. I've seen episodes here and there, but never really got into it (it was on during my 'no interest in TV' phase.) Anyways, I gotta say, this is far and away the best cop show I've ever seen. It's 10x the show that NYPD Blue could ever hope to be, and it even manages to edge out The Shield and Hill Street Blues, which are each the best of their era. The show manages to be both irreverant and poignant, the acting is stellar, and the structure is just... breath taking. The best of it all tho, is the "Three Men and Adena." It's the climax of one of the main throughlines of the first season, and it comes down to two detectives who hate each other having one last chance to break the man responsible for the major murder they're following. It's a full hour of nothing but interogation and it's positively mesmerizing. It's the perfect example of how doing things by the book and formulaic might be safe, but it's not art. This is a work of art.
If you're a fan of Bendis' Powers or Brubaker and Rucka's Gotham Central, you owe it to yourself to check these DVD's out.

RITUAL HOMICIDE– Teaser
Sorry for the no post
I blew out my shoulder last week, and typing is a huge pain in the ass, so I have to limit it to deadline oriented work only. It's almost all healed up, so, y'know, back and regular soon.

Star Wars — Episode III
It's actually pretty good. There's three key moments that are just heinously awful, but, aside from those, it's a pretty good time. The first time I've ever wanted to go and watch the next movie after walking out of a prequel. Speilberg saved it, methinks.
E3 - Destroy All Humans
Sort of a Mars Attacks!-The Game, only it seems to actually deliver on it. Their setup was great, a little 50's diner with a UFO crashing into it.
E3 — Rockstar
Rockstar Games had a pretty cool setup, about a dozen semi's painted up with decals for all the new games. For some reason you couldn't actually walk around by them, or play anything, which was stange, but the big steel fences and trucks made a striking visual.
E3 — Katamri Damacy 2
The best game of the PS2 generations gets a sequel that's EVEN BETTER.
E3 — Inside
It's remarkable because it manages to be both tremendously dark, and overwhelmingly bright at the same time. Sort of like the Universal Citywalk at night. It was hellaciously crowded both days I went, so the pictures were all taken on the move. Hence the shitty, shitty cell phone quality.
E3
Here's a short couple of pictures from my day at E3, I was actually running around talking to people, and didn't really have time to take too many pictures, but, here's a few.
This is the first thing you see when you come in, sort of the quiet before the storm.
Elk’s Run #4
Diet Coke with Splenda
It's like my days of non-diabeticism are back! Tastes almost exactly like Coke, or what I think Coke tastes like. It's been a good 3 years since I've had actual Coke, aside from the occasional restaurant fuck up.
This has gotten the Josh seal of approval.
For what it's worth.
Sanitizer
I have a germ phobia, and keep bottles of Purell squirelled away all over my house and car. I'm probably gonna have to ride the train next week for E3,and thought of being in that steel fucking bacteria breeding ground is already makin me nervous.

New Moblogging Setup
You'd think'd I'd look happier.
